What is a good way to add lights to wall art?
When I design a something new, I always look for inspiration in places like Etsy or Pinterest. Sometimes it sparks an idea that you may not have thought of. In my case, I wanted a way to make a channel for the lights to sit into so that it would have a inner glow. And because I chose to use the Axiom CNC to do that, I needed to put the work piece face down and cut the channel in from the top.
In retrospect, I would have screwed the back on incase you ever needed to change the lights in the future. But I love how this came out!
Now, I know what you're thinking... "I don't have a CNC"
No problem, you can accomplish the same sign with a bandsaw, scrollsaw or even a jigsaw and a router for the channel area.
Zach's pro tip
When you're designing your sign, think about it from the rear forward or back to the front. In other words, think about how you would assemble it, then start there.
